Autism Programs Coordinator, Behavior Services and Autism Programs


Cara received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Saint Michael’s College in 1998.  After gaining several years of experience teaching children with special needs, Ms. Cappalli earned a Master of Science in Education degree in behavioral education from Simmons College (2004).  Cara joined the ACES team as a Behavior Analyst in September 2004 and was instrumental in developing the Early Intensive Behavioral Instruction Program and was one of the founders of ACES Home Outreach Services.  Cara has served as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Saint Joseph and Bay Path University, teaching graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis and providing supervision to BCBA candidates. Cara received her BCBA certification in 2004 and her professional interests include curriculum development, staff training and program management.

Jorge Garcia, M.A., BCBA

Internal Programs Coordinator, Behavior Services and Autism Programs


Jorge received his B.A. in psychology from the University of California and his M.A. in Human Development at the University of Kansas, studying under Dr. Don Baer and other prominent leaders in the field of Behavior Analysis. Jorge has been working as a behavior analyst since 1989 and has been with the ACES BSC team since 2003. Jorge's prior experience includes staff training and consultation with Head Start.

Carrie Hartman, M.S., BCBA

External Programs Coordinator, Behavior Services and Autism Programs


Carrie received her M.S. in Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas and a B.A. in Speech Pathology from the University of Florida. Since Carrie's arrival in CT in 2004, she has been an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University and St. Joseph’s College.  Ms. Hartman has developed guidelines for ACES Home Outreach Program, provided instructional and behavior management services for families in the home and community, and has been instrumental for school districts in designing effective instructional environments for children with autism and other disabilities.
